Merry Cristmas

From Danielle and Brett Park

Christmas Picture 2006

A very busy year is slowly coming to an end, and Brett and I have many more busy years to look forward too. Yes, that is correct Brett and I got married this past summer on July 22, 2006, one of the hottest days we had all summer. I think everyone that attended had a great time, if they can remember it. Since then not a lot of stuff has happened. We did manage to get away for a week on a honeymoon/camping trip out to the Rocky Mountains. On our second day we even climbed a mountain in Waterton, Alberta. It proved to be very challenging but we are still married, so it couldn't have been that bad! Although at one point I do recall wondering how much it would cost to get a helicopter to lift me off the mountain! (Not good to hike a mountain when you are afraid of heights and small spaces).

Well my old car finally kicked the bucket, it was a sad day really. It was great fun getting Brett to tow me in his truck. After selling the heap for scrap, Brett was ever so nice and offered me the nice newer car he was driving (He is stuck driving his good ole Blazer). I am still getting used to driving a standard and well I kind of leave the lights on. Silly battery dying so fast! Brett really should get a job working for CAA, he gets a lot of calls from me to come and give me a boost!

Subbing is going rather well for me. I am subbing in the Regina Public System, Regina Catholic System and Prairie Valley. I've been getting about 10 or so days a month which helps pay the bills and keeps me from going insane. It's just so crazy and boring at home doing nothing, I think I really need a kitty to keep me company. I'm still working on Brett. He seems to think cats are bad news or something. So if anyone has a cat they would like to get rid of, feel free to send it our way. I can't give back a gift!

Brett is working at the Co-op Upgrader as a Programmer Analyst. I think he is enjoying it as he comes home from work sometimes and talks about stuff with great excitement for hours on end, I just smile and nod (who knew I could understand a few words of geek).

We are still living in our little cozy Gladmer Park flat. I think I want to spend the rest of my days in this place, yah right. Brett and I are hoping to buy a place sometime in the next year so we no longer have to pay rent, and, most importantly, I can have a blow-up doll, I mean pool in the back yard.

This fall we put in a volleyball team in a City of Regina league that plays at the University. We play 2 games every Sunday night. We also joined a bowling league this fall. We bowl every Wednesday evening. It has been quite the experience and we aren't that bad of bowlers either. We also have bought ourselves some gym passes to help keep ourselves fit. We try to go 2-3 times a week but that doesn't always happen.

Well, so concludes our first Christmas Letter, er, website. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Be sure to enjoy your caulidays (that's what you get when you mix cauliflower and holidays) with your family and friends. Please email us with all your Christmas stories and be sure to check out some of our pictures on the Parknation Photos Webpage. The second day Album from our Honeymoon is especially interesting, as well as our wedding photos.

Love,
Danielle and Brett
